Onomichi Blues III
2019
50x40x3.5 cm (HxBxD)
Olieverf op linnen canvas
In 2017 I spent six months in Japan, in the picturesque town Onomichi nearby Hiroshima. It mostly was a time of solitude, a time of introspection. This painting tries to capture the mood I was in at the time. Although the scene is from Onomichi I decided to paint it blurry for it not to be too anecdotal, and to create an open, arcane atmosphere.
